Reduction in Fuel Surcharges on Singapore Airlines and Silk Air

Other airlines including Qantas and Air Asia have already been reducing their fuel surcharges and it’s good to see Singapore Airlines doing the same thing.

This is the new chart for the surcharges:

Cheaper Redemptions on Singapore Airlines and Silk Air

Singapore Airlines imposes fuels surcharges on practically every flight so this will benefit anyone that is looking to redeem KrisFlyer Miles.

The changes mean that you could see a $5 ($S6.25) cheaper cost for short haul in Asia or a decent US$83 (S$113)  reduction for some long-haul flights.

The best changes are seen in First and Business class meaning that those redemptions are about to get even more valuable in terms of KrisFlyer Miles.   Note that only tickets issued after the 26th February will see a reduction in fuel surcharges.

I’ll be looking at this again when the changes come into effect on the 26th February.  But in the meantime to see what your miles are worth check this out:
