Singapore Airlines has launched a pretty rare business class sale for VISA cardholders for flights out of Singapore. The business class sale is available from now until the 30th of November for travel between 1st November and the 28th February.
Fares on Offer in the Sale
I was very excited when I saw the sale, as Singapore Airlines rarely has a business class sale (sad as I am!). There are short-haul, medium-haul and long-haul fares in the sale, but it’s not on all routes – check here for the list.
You’ll need to be a VISA cardholder, and you’ll need to travel in a 2 or more as these are 2 to go fares. There don’t seem to be any blackout dates but when I checked for the busy Christmas period the sale fares weren’t available. The terms and conditions for the fares that I checked also stated that you couldn’t upgrade with KrisFlyer Miles but when you search for the flights the site clearly says that you can, so this could be a cheaper way to use an upgrade award to First/Suites.

Here are some of the fares I found:
- Singapore to London Return usual price: $S7500, Sale $6800
- Singapore to San Francisco usual price: S$7900, Sale S$6850
- Singapore to Beijing usual price: S$4000, Sale S$3328
- Singapore to Bangkok usual price: S$1311, Sale S$1088
Just looking at these fares you’re getting up to a 19% discount, with some down to 10% which doesn’t make this a fantastic sale – but it’s still a discount. I don’t think that the sale fares would warrant a mileage run, unless you are close to your status for the year and just need those few extra miles.
Don’t forget to use a mileage earning card to book the flights, and think about any required spending to get your sign-up bonuses. The ANZ Travel Visa Signature Card alone would earn you nearly 20,000 KrisFlyer Miles for a return to London.
