Club Calrson is not a program that I write about frequently here on FlyStayTravel but a recent offer got my interest, so I had a look to see if purchasing points would be a good deal.
Club Carlson is the hotel loyalty program for the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group which owns these brands:
- Quorvus Collection
- Radisson Blu
- Park Plaza
- Park Inn by Radisson
- Country Inns & Suites By Carlson
The Quorvus Collection and Radisson Blu demand the higher prices, but are generally nicer hotels.
Most of their hotels are located in Europe (Radisson Blu’s and Radissons), and the US (Country Inns). For those based here in Asia there is also a good concentration in India, with a few in China then several others scattered around the Asia-Pacific region.
There are no Carlson hotels located in either Malaysia or Singapore however.
What took my attention was that Club Carlson have a promotion on offering a 30% bonus on purchased points for the next month.
There are still some other points purchase promotions going on and for their guides check out these below:

Buying Club Carlson Gold Points
The annual cap on purchases of Club Carlson Gold Points is 40,000 for either yourself or as a gift.
Each 1,000 Gold Points costs 7.00 USD, so the full amount will set you back $280 or 0.7 cents per point.
During the current promotion you can purchase with a bonus of us to 30% extra points – meaning that you’ll receive a bonus of 12,000
So if you purchase the full 40,000 (+12,000) will therefore only cost 0.54 cents per point, a decent discount – but not the highest available.
The promotion is available from now until the 15th of October.
Using Club Carlson Gold Points for Cheaper Hotel Nights
Redemption rates at Carlson properties range from Category 1 which cost 9,000 points per night to Category 7 which cost 70,000 per night. Unlike other hotel schemes there are no discounts for longer stays.
Because of the recent devaluation the more expensive properties make less sense for redemptions but there are some cheap alternatives for Category 1 and 2 hotels.
With the 30% bonus these hotels cost $49 and $81 respectively per night which can make redemptions cheap compared to usual revenue stays.
For example the Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Goa Candolim was priced at $70 USD per night for a stay next year, which you could get by 9,000 points redemptions at $49 per night.
Some of the cheaper Park Inns are available too and so staying at the European properties at $49 per night is a really good deal.
Don’t forget to purchase these points with a high online miles earning card too!
