Tomorrow is the last day (15th March) in the Malaysia Airlines up to 50% off redemption promotion. This is a good opportunity to use up Enrich Miles considering the big changes that Malaysia Airlines has made to the earning and redemptions rates for Enrich Miles.
Routes in the Up to 50% Off Redemption Promotion
The Promotion is available until tomorrow – 15th of March 2015, for redemptions from now until June the 15th. Discounts range from 50% to just 20% depending on the route you are looking at. It’s available for flights to and from Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu as well as range of Malaysia Airlines destinations:
Malaysia Airlines haven’t released any nice easy tables but you can find all of the rates through their World Of Riches Digital issue:
Best Deals in the Enrich Miles Redemption Promotion
Looking at what is on offer Adelaide, Beijing, Dubai and Osaka would seem to be the best options as the other long-haul routes don’t get the full 50% discount. The cheapest rates for these come in at 55,000 Enrich Miles return in business class.
Note that last year you could get Beijing or Osaka from 40,000 return in business class, or Adelaide at the same price!
There are some poorer deals in the too – Although these are discounted rates they are not inclusive of the usual 15% discount that you receive online – so those that are 20% discounted are actually only 5% cheaper! For example a return to Sydney in Business Class costs 110,000 – the 15% discount = 93,500 so you’re only actually saving 5,500 Enrich Miles.
In addition to that in the old chart the redemption on a normal day used to cost only 80,000 Enrich Miles.
As with the other redemption promotions Malaysia Airlines forces you to do the promotional rates on a point to point basis –so say for example you want to go from Adelaide to Paris you’ll have to book them as two separate tickets. The downside of this is if they airlines experiences trouble with its operation and you miss your flight but I’d hope Malaysia Airlines would help you out in those situations, travel insurance is of course your other option.
