For October and November you can take advantage of this M1 KrisFlyer Promo with some bonus miles up for grabs for roaming users and new sign-ups to M1.
What’s in the M1 KrisFlyer Promo?
The first promotion is for purchases made in the M1 Data Passport is an additional service on top of your usual M1 service that allows you to use your local data/minutes/texts whilst overseas for a fee – You can find out more here:
In this promotion M1 is offering bonus KrisFlyer Miles for your bundle purchase and is available until the 30th November:
The value of the miles compared to what you are purchasing makes this a pretty good offer if you are travelling overseas as you’d get an effective rebate of $4, $10 and $20 respectively for the plans.
My only word of warning would be that the Data Passport can be a monthly subscription service where the price is applied each month – this promotion would work far better on the one time purchase of a month Data Passport.
Note as well that the promotion isn’t applied automatically you’ll have to follow these steps to get the KrisFlyer Miles:
To redeem the promotion, KrisFlyer and PPS Club Member must also SMS their valid KrisFlyer / PPS Club membership account number to “11133” with the mobile line with the activated Data Passport. SMS must be sent within the qualifying period, in the following SMS entry format:
M1KrisFlyer<Space>KF/PPS Club Membership Number
Other M1 and KrisFlyer Promotions
The other promotion on offer for KrisFlyer members is for sign-ups to Fibre Broadband with up to 1,000 KrisFlyer Miles on offer. This promotion is open to all KrisFlyer members and is available until the 31st May. Full details can be found on the Singapore Airlines site under M1:
Additional Promotions with M1 for KrisFlyer Gold Elite and PPS Club Members
Gold Elite and PPS Club KrisFlyer members will get an additional 1,000 Miles (2,000 total) for the fibre broadband offer and they’ll also get an additional offer of enjoying in-flight data roaming for “free”.
You’ll only need to sign-up or re-contract for a “Max+” mobile plan at $228/month!
In terms of speeds I might expect data roaming to be slower than the in-flight WiFi. In addition Singapore Airlines does now offer some complementary WiFi for First and Business Class Passengers – and some more reasonable WiFi prices:
- Suites/ First Class Passengers : 100MB
- Business Class Passengers/ PPS Club Members* : 30MB
* Also applicable for PPS Supplementary card holders. Each passenger is entitled to one complimentary WiFi session per flight sector, based on the higher eligible data allowance amount e.g. First Class passengers who are also PPS Club members will receive 100MB of complimentary WiFi.
Both of those promotions aren’t great unless it was something you were going for anyway – I mean signing up for a 24 month contract that’ll cost you $936 for a reward of 2,000 Miles at roughly $40 of value only represents a 4% rebate.
Earning KrisFlyer Miles with M1
M1 is the only Telco provider in Singapore that lets you earn KrisFlyer Miles directly through their rewards programme M1 SunPerks. I recently covered the SunPerks programme here:
