There are lots of useful resources out on the web and I wanted to highlight one in particular that reader Icpteck has put together and provides in a few of the frequent flyer and financial forums.
Why this is useful?
You may be wondering why this spreadsheet is even needed, you just earn miles for every $S1 you spend right? Well its unfortunately not that simple, many of the credit cards available in Singapore have quite a range of complex rules that sometimes mean you could earn 10x less for spend – especially where bonuses are concerned. So using the spreadsheet can make sure that when you are spending at a particular retailer you get the most from you spend.
Note that most of the credit card programs earn their own loyalty points which can be used for things other than Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles too – but this reference is only for Singapore.
Support the Crowdsource and Report Your Findings
I have embeded the spreadsheet below but this is only for viewing purposes. I’ve also included a direct link under “Credit Card Reviews” which is full page to view that click here
I would encourage you to support the crowdsourcing efforts and start to fill in your own data about what points you’ve received for your spend – did the transaction qualify for the credit card bonus? You can edit the spreadsheet using the following link:
