If you have a stash of Hilton Honors points like me you’ll always be looking for good value redemptions, and I do prefer getting good value out of their cheaper redemptions especially in Asia, and the good news is that the Hilton Petaling Jaya is being reduced to just 10,000 Hilton Honors Points per Night.
Since the horrible devaluation to the Hilton Honors program in 2013 Hilton has been making changes through a website periodically, but not actively informing members of those changes so sometimes it’s hard to keep up.
I spotted last week that the website has been updated and there are 24 properties going up in price and 13 going down. Most of these are located in the US, but one caught my attention – the Hilton Petaling Jaya.
The cheapest redemption in Malaysia is 10,000 Hilton Honors points per night in the DoubleTree branded hotels, the Hiltons have always cost at least 30,000 or more.
But now the Hilton Petaling Jaya which is about 6km from the center of KL will be reduced to just 10,000 Hilton Honors points which are a steal. You can find out more about the Hilton Petaling Jaya here:
The decreased points amount doesn’t seem to be in the system for future purchases but expects it to change after the 30th March.
You can find the full list of category changes which mostly affect the US here:
Purchase Hilton Honors Points for Cheaper Nights
Because this hotel has dropped category to just 10,000 points this is now a good option for redeeming purchased points instead of purchasing outright, this can be great value check out our post here for details:
There are also other options in Malaysia with the DoubleTree Kuala Lumpur also being 10,000 Hilton Honors points as well as the DoubleTree Johore Bahru.
Unfortunately, it looks as though the Batang Ai Longhouse resort in Borneo has been dropped by Hilton Management.
Have you stayed at the Hilton Petaling Jaya before – good as a property?
