Malaysia Airlines is at it again announcing new deals and offers for Enrich secretly, this time effective from the 1st of November (nearly 4 weeks ago!) redemptions on Firefly have been reduced by up to 33%.
Comparison of the Old and New Award Redemption Charts with Firefly and Enrich Miles
Previously the award chart was quite straightforward with redemptions starting at 7,500 Enrich Miles for a on-way across the Firefly network, with variations based on the fare class:
I suspect that these levels were deemed to be quite high by many Enrich members and not used as much as expected.
There are essentially 4 changes.
- Singapore has been split out with a reduction in the required miles for all fare class levels
- Koh Samui has been split out and retains the original fare levels – so no real change
- Kerteh has been split out and only has the highest redemption level
- The biggest change is “Other Destinations” so any routes that are not the above three will have their redemption mileage reduced significantly with the highest fare class by 33%.
Here is the new award chart:
Although I haven’t looked at the availability of the Q, H, and S class tickets and the value of the redemptions I could see these new levels being useful for expiring Enrich miles or if you have just a small amount you want to use. I do have a post on the value of using Enrich miles for Firefly so stay tuned for that.
