Uber has introduced a new feature in Singapore that enables you to pool your spend on Uber into one family account, which opens up a new route to earn Miles and Points with Uber.
One of the tricks in collecting miles and points is firstly to change cash spend into credit card spend and then secondly to optimize that spend onto accelerator cards – and this new Uber feature could help with both.
How Families Could Benefit by Family Pooling with Uber
So if you have kids or family members that are using Uber or taxis and paying with your cash this could be a great way to pay for the tab using a high miles earning credit card. You can pool up to 10 people using the Uber App, and here are the instructions as to how you do it:
In terms of family spend your other option could be to get them to get a high earning credit card or to give them a supplementary card too (most of those are free).
If you’re not currently an Uber user then feel free to use my Uber referral code and you’ll get $S10 credit towards your first ride:
Unfortunately this credit only works for Singapore and I don’t believe this family pooling feature is available in Malaysia (but I’m happy to be corrected!).
Don’t forget to further optimize your Uber Miles and Points earnings by collecting Starpoints with your Uber account at the same time, we wrote about all of the details last week – but I’m not sure if this will work beyond your own account but it’s worth a try of course!
