IHG Rewards Club is offering double points for incidental spend across the Middle East, Asia and Africa all year long.
With this promotion you’ll earn 20 points per $US1 spent on any non-room spend with a qualifying stay. That can be earned on food and beverage, room service, laundry, and telephone. It won’t include third party spend like a Spa for example.
I usually end up spending a few dollars here and there on some incidental spend so these extra points will come in handy. If you travel for work and don’t mind eating at the hotel restaurant then this can be a very lucrative way to boost your IHG points earnings.
To qualify you’ll have to register here:
You’ll have to be staying at the property to earn the double points and it’s only valid for stays at InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Indigo and Holiday Inn properties. The big exclusions though are properties in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan but hotels in the Middle East, Africa and elsewhere in Asia count.
Note that some properties don’t count the GST as qualifying spend so the points you get may not reflect the bill that you had at the hotel.
I tend to register for these even if I don’t have any stays coming up so that I don’t forget and as this goes out for the whole year there’s no harm in doing so, again you can register here
I also posted up today about the IHG Accelerate 2016 Q2 Promotion, which is well worth a look if you haven’t registered yet as there’s a lot of bonus points available for members.
Are you a big spender at hotels on incidental spend? What do you spend on?
